Our farm is now closed, but our self-serve roadside stand remains open for cash purchases of squash, pumpkins, straw bales, and firewood.

Thank you for a wonderful “farewell season” at the farm ♥

About

We are a family farm located near Mannheim, Ontario.

We have been selling produce from our farm since 1996.  What started out as a wheelbarrow full of pumpkins for our children to sell at the roadside, eventually turned into a busy family farm enterprise and a popular destination for fall seasonal produce!

Our Shantz Family Farm Heritage

We are very proud to be a century farm – actually reaching our 150th year of operation in 2020! What a milestone! We know that our ancestors would be proud of the heritage that they began.

Here’s how it all began & how we came to be raising the 6th generation of Shantz’s on this property…

February 14, 1870 – Kevin’s Great-Great Grandfather, Joshua Shantz, purchased the farm from the original owner.

February 19, 1874 – Kevin’s Great Grandfather, Amos Shantz, purchased the farm from his father, Joshua.

March 31, 1919 – Kevin’s Grandfather, Samuel Shantz, purchased the farm from his father, Amos.

April 5, 1948 – Kevin’s Uncle, Melvin Shantz, purchased the farm from his father, Samuel.

September 1, 2005 – After running the farm operation for almost 20 years, Kevin & Angela purchased the farm from Aunt Dorothy Shantz (widow of Uncle Mel, who passed away March 25, 2005). It finally became “our” farm!

Our children are the 6th Shantz generation to farm on this property
and we are blessed to share that heritage with them, and our growing extended family!
